Somebody... Anybody... If you are hiring, if you know of anyone who is hiring, please email me. I can no longer code this crap. Consider me your everlovin' freelancer for hire. I will write, no, Hell, I'll do just about anything. I am serious.
Hey. I've got a great resume, too. Please, if you are looking to hire, email me and I'll share it with you.

Let me assure you that freelance work of any kind doesn't pay NEAR what you make as a coder.
Unless, of course, you make about $18K a year. And that's with freelance in graphic design as well as copy-writing, copy editing and prepress layout.
It's definitely not a "get rich" job. In fact, it's not even a "provide for a family" job.
But believe me, I understand the need to escape from a bad situation.

Katherine, Thank you. Seriously. I do appreciate that.
...and I know that freelancing doesn't pay. I'm starting to seriously not care about the money anymore. I know that it's suicide, but I'm freakin' out...
I'll admit that this post was more primal scream therapy than anything else, but Fritz, if you're serious, then I'd love to take the job. Unfortunately, the stark realities of my private purgatory demand that I would only be able to help you part-time.
Mz. Clark that coding would be COBOL, the most vile of the vilest of codes. I was hired to do some UNIX work. Funny how that has never seemed to pan out...

The magic site could be
www.healthways.com. Look under careers. They eat programmers like candy across all levels. Hiring all day everyday. Unless you already work there.

Thanks! But I'm not cut out to be a programmer. Here, this is what I mean.

Oh. I have the attention span of circus monkey and I'm not good with subtlety.
Greater changes than just job changes. I get it. Why don't you sign up to guest blog NIT this weekend and test your skills and patience.
We've taken a lot of creative and career risks at my house and they will pay off, but not always materially.

I gave up a job that paid real money because, like you, I couldn't stand it any more. I only mentioned the money because I recalled from your previous post that it had been a concern of yours.
I've been really blessed to have a new situation that doesn't cause me to bleed from the eyeballs. If you and your family can work it out you'll see that--like saraclark says--there are other ways for it to pay off besides money.
